24/7 Safety Tipline

RCPS is contracting with Gaggle for this new tip line. Gaggle’s team of safety experts works around the clock to evaluate student safety concerns reported through our tipline, categorizing incidents by their severity.

If a tip reveals a threat to student safety or well-being, Gaggle will alert the designated division contact immediately. In the most severe cases, Gaggle will initiate a wellness check.

Students will be made aware of SpeakUp for Safety in a variety of ways:

1. Posters will be sent to the schools to be displayed throughout the school.
2. Students will receive a monthly reminder email about the availability of the tip line.
3. The new mass notification app will allow RCPS to send app notifications to students regarding things such as the Safety Tip Line.
4. Instagram stories will be utilized to reach students through social media.
5. The Tip Line will be added to the Resources for Students tab on rcps.info.

School administrators (min. 3 per school) have been designated as Emergency Contacts with Gaggle. Gaggle will reach out to school-level contacts in situations where they review a tip and identify concerning content. School-level contacts will be contacted before reaching out to division-level contacts.
