Welcome back to school on August 11th! For more back-to-school information, please visit the “Parent Letter” section under “Students & Families.”
Join us from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 8 at William Fleming High School!
Students and families can:
- receive free school supplies
- meet their administrators
- connect with community partners and resources
- register for school and apply for preschool
- receive free, required immunizations through the Virginia Department of Health
- and more!
*All children attending must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Only students enrolled in Roanoke City Public Schools are eligible to receive no-cost items. School supplies are available while supplies last. Backpacks are not available during Extravaganza; please contact your school directly if you need a backpack.
NOTE: All rising 7th graders will need an updated Tdap vaccination to enter the building on the first day of school. Students can get their updated Tdap vaccines at the Back-to-School Extravaganza!

More than 1,000 students received free school supplies and other needed resources.

In addition to a modified Convocation, each school held its own mini-Convocation with a unifying activity.

The program gave students an early, engaging start on the skills they will need for Math Advanced 6.
